Overview: The beauty of the internet is the ability to sell far more products that could be carried in a store or displayed in a print catalog. The trick is to be able to present a large product selection is a way that is organized and not confusing.
Competition Accessories is a great example of this. The website sells more than 10,000 unique items for motorcycle racers, from bike equipment and parts to clothing and accessories and most everything else a visitor would need.
Note the organization of this site into categories, sub-categories, and finally, sub-sub-categories, all drilling down to exactly what the shopper is looking for. More than one route is presented to find products. Besides traditional drill-down, visitors can shop by brand, or also use the search found at the top of the page.
Once a shopper gets to the product page optional colors and styles are presented together so they can select exactly what they want. No need to toggle back and forth to a thumbnail page! Click on the SKU you want to see off this page and a larger image of the style/color you’ve selected replaces the main image shown. Easier than searching through racks in a store!
